Wooley, MS, RD, CNSC, a Clinical Nutrition Specialist and registered dietician at GE Healthcare. Together they review the ASPEN-SCCM and ESPEN recommendations for COVID-19 patients and the impact of metabolic alterations of COVID-19 on energy and protein requirements.

Dr. van Zanten is the Chair of the Department of Intensive Care and ICU Research in Gelderse Vallei

Hospital in Ede and Professor at Wageningen University & Research in The Netherlands. His research focuses on critical care nutrition with particular interest in immune-modulating nutrition, protein needs and timing, mitochondrial dysfunction and refeeding syndrome. He has been a working member of ESICM, ESPEN and NESPEN, developing best practice guidelines. He has authored the Chapter on Critical Care Nutrition in the newest Textbook of Critical Care Medicine, has published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, and given over 400 lectures on the topics of critical care nutrition and sepsis.
