    Dr. Lorenzo Ball, born 1984, is Assistant Professor in Anesthesia and Intensive Care at the University of Genova and Intensivist at the Intensive Care Unit of Policlinico San Martino Hospital in Genova, Italy.

    He obtained his PhD degree at the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. His main areas of research and clinical activiy are focused on respiratory failure, respiratory monitoring and mechanical ventilation in the intensive care unit and the operating room.

    Dr. Peter Beatty

    Dr. Beatty has held a substantive Consultant Anaesthetist position with NHS Forth Valley since 2012. His main clinical interests are in Regional Anaesthesia techniques and anaesthesia for Orthopaedic (Trauma and Elective) and Colorectal surgery. He has extensive experience in both including facilitating peripheral awake surgery under regional anaesthesia on a regular basis. 

    Dr. Beatty main non-clinical interests currently are the installation and ongoing development of an Electronic Patient Record within anaesthesia, for which he is Clinical Lead.

    Meera Joshi, PhD, MBBS, MRCS

    Dr. Joshi is Specialist Registrar at Ashford & St Peters Hospital in the KSS Deanery. She is Clinical Research Fellow in the department of Surgery and Cancer at Imperial College London. She has recently completed a PhD on ‘Optimising the identification of acute deterioration and sepsis through digital technology. Dr. Joshi has received several awards for her work including; the prestigious British Science Association Isambard Kingdom Brunel Award Lecture 2020, the Royal College of Surgeons England Research Fellowship and winner of the London Surgical Symposium. She has peer reviewed publications on wearable sensors and has been invited to present her work at several international meetings.

    Prof. Matthias Grünewald has been the Chief Physician at the Clinic for Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at the Evangelical Amalie Sieveking Hospital since October 1, 2022. He studied medicine at Charité Berlin and completed his training as a specialist in anaesthesiology at the University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH) in Kiel. Prof. Grünewald is specialised in hospital management and has been the Deputy Clinic Director at the UKSH in Kiel since 2017. In UKSH specifically, Prof. Grünewald performed a quite intense scientific work on patient individualized control of medications and haemodynamic management.
